Village mobile app

Fostering positive social interaction online

The Challenge: Neighborhood apps and social media are more and more disregarded by my friends and family. Someone I know deactivates their account every other day. If it weren't for work, I might have deactivated my accounts as well. This made me want to understand why we all have a less than enjoyable time online, despite the best efforts of technical and creative engineers rapidly building out the web.

The Takeaway: I learned that our online tools can be a very powerful tool for positive change if they are harnessed that way. Blockchain voting is an example of how we can find ways to participate online that have meaningful repercussions in real, everyday life. This was the mindset I designed Village in.
